Alexander Mackenzie of Park House in Inverness was born in Gairloch in 1838. The son of a crofter and fisherman, he became a prolific author who founded the Celtic Magazine and the Scottish Highlander as well as writing several excellent family histories and other works. He died in 1898. Now available on CD-ROM, this eBook contains high quality images of an original copy of "the New, Revised and Extended" edition of Mackenzie's classic work examining the various septs of the Mackenzie family, as originally published in Inverness in 1894 and extending to over 600 pages.
